If you're experiencing issues with the game client, follow these instructions to resolve them quickly.
Step 1: Add the 9Dclassic folder to Windows Security/Antivirus Exclusions
Sometimes, antivirus software or Windows Security may mistakenly flag the game files as harmful.
This is a false positive, and you can safely resolve this by adding the game folder to the exclusions (or exceptions) list in your security settings.

Step 2: Fix Error Code 0x000000000042
If you encounter the error code 0x000000000042, you need to add ninedragons.exe (the game’s executable file) to your Data Execution Prevention (DEP) settings.
Follow these steps:
- Open the Control Panel and switch the view to Large Icons.
- Go to System > Advanced System Settings.
- Under the Advanced tab, click on Performance > Settings.
- Select the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) tab and choose:
"Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
- Click Add, then locate and add NineDragons.exe from your game installation folder.
Step 3: Resolve Missing DLL Files
If you receive errors about missing MSVCP140.dll or VCRUNTIME140.dll,
it means your system is missing important Visual C++ components. To fix this,
download and install the Visual C++ Redistributable Package.
